That picture in the upper left hand corner would be my husband and I with our darling Kenna, along with a family picture from Kylee's baptism on the opposite page. That gorgeous blue by-line belongs to none other than yours truly. The article is called "Breastfeeding Support Following Loss" and is published in LEAVEN, which is not a magazine anyone can go buy but it does have an international circulation. All that really means is that you will have to come to my house to read it!
Finding this in my mailbox today really made my day. My only disappointment is that they didn't use all of the pictures I gave them. I had some from another mom and I wish they were also used. I actually had this pipe dream that the gorgeous picture my friend submitted would show up on the cover, but I unfortunately knew that wasn't likely to be the case. For my first time in print, I will take what I can get..although my mom did tell me I need to get paid next time!
Is it wrong to put my own work on the refrigerator for all to see?
(Oh, and Aidan thinks it is SUPER COOL that his picture is in a magazine that came in the mail.)

Congratulations on being published, Heidi! I read what I could with my head sideways, but I will definately be asking to see this next time I'm over!
YAY! I had just tossed it on the counter in my fog of sadness and hadn't even looked at it! My husband is reading it now. Thanks again for honoring Felicity and Kenna in this way!
I'd think you should put it on the frig, then put one in with Kenna's remembrance stuff. Mine will go in Felicity's scrapbook!
I just finished reading it and wow, it's so neat, Heidi.
Also wanted to mention something I didn't know at the time, but after my miscarriage the nurse at the hospital told me that due to the closeness to having been pregnant with Felicity and having nursed Elijah until just a month and a half short of the miscarriage, my milk might come in in reduced way, if that makes sense (huge run-on sentence-sorry!)
Anyway, sure enough, I did have some engorgement and tenderness, not anything I needed to pump for, but it was there. I don't know if LLL covers this at all. Kind of a unique situation.
I also just found out that with natural fertility methods where you monitor mucus, you are considered "breastfeeding" for three months AFTER you wean. It can take your body that long to resume normal patterns (in terms of mucus).
Hope I didn't scare any of your readers away by all the mucus references!
